Liverpool will be looking to keep pace with Premier League leaders Arsenal by beating Fulham this afternoon.
Jurgen Klopp’s side currently trail Mikel Arteta’s men by five points, though have
a game in hand on the Gunners and can reduce this gap back down to two with a win on home soil.
The Reds earned a valuable point on their travels last weekend at Manchester City and will fancy
their chances of securing a victory at Anfield in their latest fixture during a busy month for the club.
There has certainly been plenty to admire about Liverpool’s performances this season, though those wishing to enjoy another
high-quality showing from Klopp’s men will be left disappointed this weekend due to the game not being shown live on television in the UK.
The reason for this 2pm kick-off not being broadcast relates to the fact this fixture was originally scheduled to
beplayed yesterday (Saturday, December 2) at 3pm. This was later moved to today (Sunday, December 3) due to Liverpool’sparticipation in the Europa League.
As the original match was placed in a blackout slot, which are never accessible for viewers, this cannot be adjusted
despite the kick-off time and date of the game being altered to facilitate the Reds’
European commitments. As a result, West Ham United versus Crystal Palacehas instead been selected as the 2pm game on Sky Sports.
This is not the first time Liverpool have suffered this fate regarding a fixture
with Fulham, however, with the exact same outcome playing out last season.
The Reds saw their home meeting with the Cottagers in March postponed due to their opponents’ involvement in the
latter stages of the FA Cup and could not be added to the TV picks when
eventually played in May due to the original date being a 3pm start time on a Saturday afternoon
