Winner named in Swansea City and QPR race to sign Peterborough United winger Kwame Poku

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that one club has won the race to sign Peterborough United winger Kwame Poku.

Following the completion of the 2024/25 League One campaign, the future of Peterborough United winger Kwame Poku was a hugely discussed topic.

The 23-year-old’s contract expires on June 30, but as he doesn’t turn 2024 until August, the Posh required compensation from any English club that signs him.

Birmingham City wanted to sign Poku, although their interest soon faded after director of football Barry Fry slapped a £10 million asking price on Poku.

Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony feared that Poku could move to Rangers, who could have signed him on a free transfer. Luckily, a Championship club has won the race for his signature.
