Wolves might be ready to sacrifice Max Kilman this summer amid interest from West Ham, according to TEAMtalk.

The online source reported [20 June] that the Midlands-based club could be willing to part ways with their captain this summer, with the Hammers placing him at the top of their transfer shortlist.

Wolves preparing for Max Kilman exit amid West Ham United interest

Considering the current defensive shapeup at the London Stadium, the signing of Kilman could be crucial in Lopetegui’s first Premier League season in charge.

The 27-year-old has plenty of experience in the division, having made 151 appearances for Wolves since arriving from Maidenhead United in 2018 and recently becoming club captain.

Kilman’s rise to stardom has been rather impressive, though some fans have provided a mixed reaction to the transfer link despite playing all 38 of Wolves’ Premier League matches.

Given that the current options heading into next season are Kurt Zouma, Konstantinos Mavropanos and the exit-linked Nayef Aguerd, the new manager has no choice but to bring in a new face.

Having worked with him during their time together at Molineux, it makes plenty of sense for the Hammers to target Kilman this summer, though the £50million price tag has raised plenty of eyebrows.

Obviously, Flamengo’s Fabricio Bruno seemed to be the first-choice signing this summer, but after missing out on him, the club must ensure that Lopetegui has enough depth in all positions.

West Ham have been quoted £50m by Wolves for Max Kilman

Not only would Kilman add depth to the side, but also a commanding voice, calmness in defence and a lot of experience as West Ham attempt to rebuild following David Moyes’ exit.

However, with new interest from Manchester United and Tottenham, as per GiveMeSport, the club will need to act quickly if they are to seal the defensive signing.
