Enso Gonzalez is another player that we won’t be seeing for a while. He suffered an ACL injury whilst representing Paraguay at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris this summer.
Club captain Mario Lemina didn’t go away with Gabon for international duty this week. He suffered a knock against Nottingham Forest. Left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri didn’t go away with Algeria for their Africa Cup of Nation qualifiers.

Newcastle United team news
In the Newcastle United camp, Lewis Miley is out for a couple of weeks after suffering a foot injury during pre-season. Centre-back Jamaal Lascelles isn’t in contention after suffering an ACL injury in March, with a return not in sight.
Joe Willock came off against Nottingham Forest in Newcastle’s Carabao Cup tie and played no part against Spurs with a thigh problem. He remains a doubt for the trip to the West Midlands.
Emil Krafth was withdrawn from international duty after originally being called up to represent Sweden. He will be assessed, having started in three of their four opening fixtures.
Sven Botman, like fellow centre-back Lascelles, suffered an ACL injury in March and remains sidelined for the next few months. Technical director Paul Mitchell hopes that the Netherlands defender can return in December.
Callum Wilson scored twice against Wolves last season but hasn’t made an appearance for the Toon this season. A back injury has so far made him unavailable to Eddie Howe, and he is right now pushing to be involved.
