Matheus Cunha has already departed Wolves; meanwhile, left wing-back Rayan Ait Nouri looks to be joining Man City.

The Molineux outfit also has the difficult assignment of finding a suitable Nelson Semedo replacement.

Fenerbahce’s Bright Osayi-Samuel is an option for Wolves, but it seems like Fosun are looking closer to home in order to find their new right-back.

Wolves interested in Trai Hume

When it comes to finding their right-back solution, it seems like Pereira’s side is looking at one of the newly promoted Premier League teams for the answer.

Molineux News reported back in May that Wolves were eyeing Sunderland’s Trai Hume, and that initial report has since been followed by further links.

According to Sky Sports News, Wolves, alongside Everton and a host of La Liga clubs, are reportedly targeting a move for the Northern Irish international this summer.

With 48 appearances and nine goal contributions to his name last season, Hume was integral to Sunderland’s unlikely promotion, and the Black Cats will no doubt want to keep their star defender.

Luckily for them, they currently hold all of the aces, as they hold the option to extend Hume’s 2027 deal by a further year—something that may deter buyers this summer.

Hume could replace Nelson Semedo

It is always going to be a difficult task replacing someone of Semedo’s quality. Hume, though, could help fill that void.

Described as a ‘warrior’ by manager Regis Le Bris (via BBC), Hume brings a mix of defensive and attacking quality that could suit Pereira’s wing-back system.

His six assists last season show he can provide in the final third, and mixed with some quality dead-ball ability, Wolves could have a whole new threat down the right-hand flank.

Still just 23 years old, Hume could be a long-term option if Fosun were to overcome the difficulties of the deal.
