As part of Luton Town’s continued progression on and off the pitch, the Club recently engaged with Luton Council to create additional pitches that are crucial to improving our Academy status.
The Club will be investing an estimated £3 million if the plans progress to develop council-owned playing field land at Surrey Street Primary School on Cutenhoe Road, next to The Brache training ground.
As well as pitches and welfare facilities for the Hatters’ future prospects, which would help gain EPPP Category 2 status, the sizeable investment from the Club will also provide a range of improved facilities for the two schools that use the current pitches during curriculum hours, Surrey Street and Linden Primary School.
Both schools will gain significant benefits from the proposed development, with details of the application available HERE.
Luton Council is conducting a consultation exercise in relation to the potential change in ownership of part of its land.
As a requirement for the Department of Education, the Council must seek approval for any changes in the ownership or tenure of education land and will be contacting a range of local stakeholders and community groups that might be affected.
Responses are also invited from the wider public of Luton, with the consultation period running until 29th July 2024.
