Defender’s verdict on draw at Charlton
Joe Rafferty was disappointed that Pompey were only able to leave The Valley with a point to show for their efforts.
But he was pleased that they kept a 16th League One clean sheet of the season to strengthen their standing at the League One summit.
That is because both of their closest promotion rivals – Derby and Bolton – fell to defeats on the road.
And Rafferty is happy with how the Blues are positions with just 11 games of their campaign remaining.
The defender said: “We want to win every game, but Charlton are in a false position and I think they’ll pick up pretty soon.
“It was a good battle all over the pitch and we were hoping to find that little bit of quality that would win us the game.
“We’re in a brilliant position – you can’t say anything else. It’s up to us to maintain that by winning as many as possible.”

“Unfortunately, it didn’t quite come for us, but we tried to get on the front foot – as they did – which made for an exciting start.

“There were chances at both ends of the pitch and once things settled down, it was up to us to make our mark, which we did at times.
“We would have liked to create some more openings and I was hoping for a little toe-poke from Myles right at the end.
“Truthfully, though, it was a brilliant challenge on him late in the game – I’d be proud if that was my tackle.
“We kept another clean sheet and we work hard to get as many of them as possible, so that’s pleasing.
“I hadn’t seen the other results, but it’s good if the others have lost and it means that’s another point gained.
“We’re in a brilliant position – you can’t say anything else. It’s up to us to maintain that by winning as many as possible.”
