Tottenham are expected to part ways with assistant coach Ryan Mason, who is eyeing a move to West Brom this summer.
Mason became a UEFA Europa League winner under Ange Postecoglou but is looking to take the next step into his first permanent managerial position.
After stepping in as interim manager on two occasions at Tottenham, Mason has caught the eye of West Brom, who have identified the 33-year-old as the number one choice to fill their vacant managerial position.
With this season finally behind him, the former midfielder is poised to accept the Baggies’ offer and depart from Hotspur Way this summer.
Mason ‘to accept offer from West Brom’
While a move away from Tottenham looks likely, Mason has yet to inform the North London club of his final decision.
As reported by BBC Sport (30 May), talks are progressing positively between Mason and West Brom.
And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham—speaking exclusively to Tottenham News—believes the Englishman is likely to accept an offer to take over at The Hawthorns, as long as the terms are right.
“West Brom are a big club,” Wenham said.
“This is a club that should be in the Premier League and will likely be one of the favorites for promotion next season. Therefore, massive credit should go to Mason.
“He’s obviously had that learning experience from the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, and Postecoglou, of course. He was also a caretaker manager twice.
“From a selfish point of view, I want Mason to stay at Tottenham. However, this is an amazing opportunity for him, and I’m sure if he is offered the job and the terms are right, he will accept the offer.”

Postecoglou’s future must be decided soon
Mason’s future is not the only one uncertain this summer, with Levy yet to decide whether to remove Postecoglou from the helm.
The Australian did the unimaginable by winning the Europa League final against Manchester United in Bilbao, but his disappointing Premier League campaign has clouded his impressive feat.
Now, with a summer of change expected at Tottenham, Levy will need to decide Postecoglou’s future before advancing in the summer transfer window.
