Several Pompey stars have reacted to their new EA Sports FC ratings, with the likes of Christian Saydee and Marlon Pack believing they have been hard done by with the latest gradings.
The 32nd instalment of EA Sports’ football simulation games is set to be released on September 27 and with it comes the newest ratings for all professional footballers, including John Mousinho’s squad.
While some Blues stars appeared happy with their latest scores, others indicated they believed them to be a ‘shambles’. As was to be expected, competition between the Pompey teammates emerged with ensuing arguments over who believes themselves to be the fastest in the team.

Taking to Pompey’s social media accounts, the Blues squad were filmed reacting to their new ratings with Ireland defender Conor Shaughnessy left less than impressed that his pace was significantly lower than Blues striker Christian Saydee.
When initially met with his ratings (Pace: 60; Shooting: 49; Passing: 58; Dribbling: 59; Defence: 68; Physical: 78), the Irish centre-back said: “It’s an improvement isn’t it!” but was quick to question why his passing was only 58.
Further insult was then felt when the 28-year-old saw Christian Saydee’s pace was 75. Indeed, both he and Paddy Lane declared that Saydee’s pace was ‘a disgrace’ – a statement which did not sit well with the English striker who later commented: “Shaughn’s trying to say he’s quicker than me! I know that I don’t show it a lot, but I am quick.”
The ex-Blues youth was also quick to put down striker Callum Lang, whose scores have dropped since the 2023/24 campaign. Lang was given a 69 for physical while his club captain boasts 75.
When the 26-year-old forward showed evident displeasure at such a rating, Pack quipped: “What are you trying to say, you should be more than me? What’s happened! You’ve gone downhill a little bit!”
Whether happy or unhappy with their new scores, what remains evident is that the squad have much to do as they continue to search for their first Championship win of the season. After three consecutive defeats, the Blues will welcome Sheffield United, who were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, to Fratton Park this Saturday as they eye their first three points of the 2024/25 campaign.
