Celtic have opened talks with Danish side Brondby over signing striker Mathias Kvistgaarden this month, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that the Hoops are still working on a deal to recruit the 21-year-old, who has been a standout in the Danish top flight this season.

Brendan Rodgers’ side remain active in the market this month and are looking to bolster their attack in the wake of a swathe of absentees who have left for the Asian Cup, including Hyeongyu Oh, Daizen Maeda and Hyunjun Yang.
As revealed by Football Insider last month (28 December), the Hoops have prioritised a striker, a central midfielder and a left winger in the January transfer window.
Celtic are putting the finishing touches to a deal for Nicolas Kuhn, with sources saying that is now all but done.
Meanwhile, Kvistgaarden has played as both a striker and a winger in his career and has notched seven goals and seven assists across 21 appearances in all competitions this season

He has proved vital for Brondby since the academy product made his debut in November 2020.
Kvistgaarden penned a new deal with the club in May which keeps him under contract until the summer of 2027.
The 2002-born star has bagged 21 goals and 12 assists across 81 appearances for Brondby and helped them to win the league title in the 2021-22 campaign.
He has been a regular for Denmark’s youth sides since making his debut for the under-18s in September 2019 and most recently featured for the under-21s in a European Championship qualifier against Wales.
Celtic remain top of the league with an eight-point gap on second-place Rangers before the winter break and next face Buckie Thistle in the Scottish Cup on 21 January.
